Snuffed Out Gets Snuffed Out: The Obe Titan Brawl

Battle report

The Battle of Obe

October 10, 2026 · Obe, The Forge (lowsec) · Snuffed Out vs Fraternity · 35 titans destroyed

Hy Wanto Destroyer asked Snuffed Out for a birthday party: bring your blingiest ships, we're going to ball and we're going to brawl. They got one. It started as an assault frigate roam and ended with 35 titans on the field in Obe, in about 50 minutes before downtime. 28 of them were Snuffed Out's.

A few hours later Hy Wanto told the alliance it was their last fleet.

The short version

The invitation

A week earlier, Hy Wanto posted this in Snuffed Out's Discord:

Alright lads. My birthday weekend is coming up so we're going to have some fun. I need EVERYONE to be ready next weekend before DT and bring your blingiest ships, we're going to BALL and we're going to BRAWL. More details to come @everyone

How it escalated

From Snuffed Out's own AAR, as summarized by capsuleers.app:

  1. The plan was to bait a capital fight using the Minmatar militia. Nobody bit, morale sagged, and the birthday fleet was close to becoming a frigate roam.
  2. A HIC-pointed Vanquisher showed up and started killing the ships tackling it. Then Fraternity dreadnoughts jumped in.
  3. Both sides kept escalating: more dreads, more capitals, then titans.
  4. By the time Snuffed Out realized Obe was within easy range of Fraternity's staging, Fraternity had roughly three times as many titans on grid.
  5. The killmails show the rest. The Vanquisher died at 10:10 UTC. Then Snuffed Out titans died about one a minute until 10:59, the minute before downtime.

The AAR also says a Fraternity Azariel died without generating a killmail, which they blame on a bug. Nobody has verified that. Another Snuffed Out Avatar died in Obe the next day.

Plus one Vanquisher (766B, the most expensive killmail of the day). Most titans in this fight were worth 140–190 billion ISK each once fitted.

Hy Wanto's farewell

After the fight, Hy Wanto posted this to the alliance:

@here thanks for coming and celebrating my birthday, sorry we didn't get more kills. This is also the moment that I'll let you all know that I will be quitting this stupid game. For you all that don't know, I'm turning 36 this year and I need to focus on other things. I know this isn't what you all may have been expecting, but I need to do what's best for me. After FCing our last titan fight, I've decided that Seddow will be the main FC for the time being. The rest of leadership will be talking about next steps, but I will not be a part of the decision. For now, I'm selling my assets and will use the isk to srp everyone who fed today with a little extra for the birthday fun. I'll be biomassing everything as well and leftover funds will go into the alliance. I'll be gone by the end of the year and i will miss you all

— Hy Wanto Destroyer

Then came the official statement on r/Eve, titled "pls stop DMing me". In it, Hy Wanto says they're taking a big step back and criticizes the state of PvP: people too scared of looking bad on a battle report to take fights, too much caution, and fewer people with time to play.

Bitter vet take

We're all happy to see this fight. Some of us are just mad we slept through the pings. It looks like a great time for both sides. Snuffed Out came for a brawl and got one, Fraternity answered the call, and the big toys finally came out to play. You don't get fights like this when everyone checks the battle report first, and Hy Wanto went out by taking the fight anyway.

Losing 28 titans and paying SRP for the whole fleet out of your own wallet on your way out the door is a very EVE way to say goodbye. o7.

Titan counts come from zKillboard titan killmails in Obe on October 10, 2026. ISK totals vary between battle reports, depending on the time window and which side each pilot is put on.
